Best Buy wanted to allow for quicker access to customer data such as Gamers club and My Best Buy Rewards Program.

My responsibilities was to redesign the user profile menu to increase visibility for membership services and provide members with a high level view of their membership.

This stage includes developing low to high mock ups with the IA that clearly layout where and what information to be displayed. We worked with a Copywriter to make sure language fit with Best Buy™s brand. We also determined proper functionality, but final decisions were to be made once I brought things to life in photoshop.

High Fidelity Mobile

We designed the mobile platforms first because of the large amount of data that would need to be present, and the notable size restrictions on a phone. Users would first see a list of their account links and some info about their Best Buy Rewards Status. Then drill down into a second layer of account links and more account specific data.

At this point I was tasked with turning the wireframes into something real. I used Photoshop, Illustrator and Sketch to make the layout look as close to reality as possible. I would follow Best Buy's pattern library, and make sure the experience was as seamless and as identical to existing navigation patterns on BestBuy.com as possible.

Eventually additional account information would be added to this menu, so I had to design something that was easily extensible for the long term necessity. We purposed to first keep the information exposed, then leverage a collapsible accordion that would expose or collapse different customer accounts. Throughout this process I would showcase the progress with prototypes I made with the greater UX team, my UX manager, product owners and business steak holders.

Live Production

After approval from the Project Manager and the UX Manager, I would present the designs to the developers for live production. I would explain the expected behaviors and answer any questions they might have. During this process I would check in with the developers to make sure what they produced behaved and looked as we desired.
